A16 Highway extension

As part of the A16 Rotterdam project, Rijkswaterstaat is working on replacing the viaduct over Hoofdweg on the A16 in 2024 and 2025. This is a phased infrastructure project to which Waco is contributing to De Groene Boog.

The first elements for the viaduct on the western side, the abutments, have already been installed, offering a clear view of the highway work. Next, the columns and U-boxes for the central support point will follow. For the viaduct on the north and south sides, precast concrete wall panels with masonry and baseboards will be produced.

The completion of the entire project is scheduled for mid-Q4 2025, after which the highway with the viaduct will be opened to traffic.
